Life Safety Inspections

Fire code enforcement is the responsibility of the Kitsap County Fire Marshal and the City of Poulsbo. Through inter-local agreements, the Poulsbo Fire Department performs the fire safety inspections in new and existing buildings within the City of Poulsbo and Kitsap County Fire District #18. When performing fire safety inspections, the main focus is to educate owners and operators about fire risks and to identify and correct fire code violations. Fire and life safety education is a key component of community-risk reduction. It works to change the beliefs and behaviors of citizens resulting in less risk and fewer fires and injuries.
