Kitsap County Fire Marshal Announces Partial Ban on Outdoor Burning.
The implementation of a stage one burn ban on outdoor burning will be effective Friday, August 5th at midnight. Under a stage one burn ban, all burning permits are suspended, and outdoor burning is prohibited except for recreational fires in approved appliances and locations or in state or federal campgrounds where allowed. Recreational burning includes small outdoor fires less than three feet in diameter used for personal recreation, cooking, religious or similar purposes in established fire pits, fireplaces our outdoor appliances.
Those who burn recreationally are reminded to have a water source sufficient to put the fire out and never leave any fire unattended, as even small recreational fires can quickly spread to surrounding areas.
