Wildland

Poulsbo Fire Department currently has eight
career members and several volunteers that make up the
Poulsbo Wildland Team (PWT). The PWT is specially trained
and equipped for local, state, and federal response. In 2021
the PWT began developing a “community risk reduction”
program to address local risk management and prevention
of wildland fires. In 2023, Poulsbo Fire Department
responded to 21 brush fires. With the addition of our new
multi-use “brush truck” in 2022, the department has been
able to increase our strength and capability in fighting
wildland fires.
