Wildland
Poulsbo Fire Department currently has eight career members and several volunteers that make up the Poulsbo Wildland Team (PWT). The PWT is specially trained and equipped for local, state, and federal mobilization. In 2021 the PWT began developing a “community risk reduction” program to address natural disasters; this includes local risk management and prevention of wildland fires. In 2021 the PWT re-evaluated the district’s wildland asset strength and capability and requested the purchase of a Type 6 Wildland Fire Engine, expected to arrive in 2022.
